Whelk Point Hoops

14kt Gold Vermeil over Sterling Silver.

Hoops measure 5/8"W and 7/8"L.

The hoops were hand-molded from the casting of a textured sea plant called corallina officinalis, and is also known as "coral weed" and the pendant from a point of a lightening whelk shell.  Both original natural objects were discovered on the Central Coast of California.

Both coral and lightening whelk have been known to symbolize wisdom and mortality.
